The Bakehouse Studio

Julie Dumbarton

Julie graduated from Loughbrough College of Art & Design in 1996 having studied Fine Art Painting.

Her paintings are all landscapes, predominantly Cumbrian and Scottish, and have been widely exhibited across Great Britain and further afield.

Julie describes her landscapes as places of calmness and solitude, where she would like to sit, contemplate and relax, but at the same time enjoy the scenery around her. The work does not represent a particular place or time, more a combination of places seen, visited and enjoyed.

Julie moved into a disused bakery in September 2004, and has spent time converting it into the Bakehouse Studio.  Julie now runs the studio and welcomes visitors.
